When I opened call for artists who wanted to join the concept album such as STATIK - The Ultimate Collection of Static Sounds Made of Field Recordings I didn't really expect that so many people would answer it. Maybe because I wanted to invite anybody neither they were amateurs nor professional. In just half an hour the line-up was closed. From this point I would like to apologize everyone I refused their call.

STATIK - The Ultimate Collection of Static Sounds Made of Field Recordings includes records from six artists and almost 3 hours of sounds in total. STATIK means diversity of styles, genres, attitudes. On the very begging I told artist - fell free to clarify the title of the record. And as you hear - they did.

It's hard for me to explain what kind of record it is. It is neither compilation nor sampler. It's definitely not a split. The closest therm of this realise is probably collection. But it's not an ordinary collection - because I consider each one track and each one artist who create STATIK as unique experience and unique person.

Wydawnictwo to powstało na zasadzie open call - ogłosiłem temat wydawnictwa zawarty w podtytule, przedstawiłem ramowe warunki przystąpienia do wydawnictwa (nagranie materiału dźwiękowego o długości ok. 20-30 minut). Do części ludzi zgłosiłem się osobiście. Po pół godzinie od ogłoszenia chęci stworzenia tego albumu miałem już pełen line-up, a zgłoszenia nadal spływały. Wszystkich, którym musiałem odmówić, serdecznie przepraszam.

STATIK - The Ultimate Collection of Static Sounds Made of Field Recordings zawiera nagrania 6 artystów, łącznie około 3 godzin zróżnicowanej muzyki. Od field recordings, przez dark ambient, po plądrofonię; od lo-fi do hi-fi; od literalnego podejścia do tytułu wydawnictwa do podejścia bardzo luźnego.

Trudno jest mi nazywać STATIK składanką - ponieważ każdemu z artystów, którzy STATIK współtworzą została poświęcona duża ilość czasu, na wydaniu fizycznym jest to odpowiedniO jedna strona kasety. Ciężko jest nazwać STATIK splitem, wszak zawiera nagrania sporej ilości artystów - większej niż to splitach zazwyczaj bywa.

Moim pragnieniem jest, aby słuchacz wszedł w osobne światy stworzone/zarejestrowane przez artystów. Z przekonaniem stwierdzam, że każdy z artystów wyróżnia się od innych. Jeśli zatem traktujemy STATIK jako zbiór, traktujmy go jako kolekcję unikatów.
