about

This record is about looking for one’s voice.
After having studied and graduated from Sonology department, which had been my dream for many years, I have gone through a personal and artistic crisis. I have lost purpose.

Why even bother making music nowadays?
Is anyone listening?
Am I talking to myself?
Am I only looking for approval and recognition?
For whom am I making music?
How do we get people’s attention?
How do we find our own unique voice, a way of artistic expression in today’s world, where everything has been done, said, remade, remixed and ridiculed?
Can we keep pushing boundaries forever?
Is it necessary?
Is there value in that?

What’s the balance between noise and rhythm?
Are melodies allowed?
And what about rhythms and repetitions?
How random is random?

Do we have to be so fucking serious?

I guess I was trying to combine here my love for complex rhythms on one hand and noisy sound structures on the other.

Equipment used: I can’t remember what I used. I think there were some samplers involved as well as DIY analog synths. Oh, and of course there is a Casio keyboard and distortion unit, some feedback loops. A lot of DIY gear. Everything was improvised and then edited / mixed in my studio in The Hague.

Recorded in 2019 in the NL. Edited and mixed in 2020.

Greetings to all good friends and peeps! There is so many of you!
Huge thanks to Maciek and Szara Reneta.
